The problems of the dialogue of quantum mechanics and theology

Abstract

The paper is a review of bordering problems between quantum mechanics, describing the microworld, and Christian theology. The basic concepts of quantum mechanics and their essential distinctions from our notions about the macroworld are given in a popular way. The outlined methodological principles of quantum mechanics are used as an analogy for the illustration of Christian faith miracle, taking as an example the celebration of Holy Communion. The problem of relationships between the methodology of quantum mechanics and the observer’s consciousness is analyzed. The critical appraisal of the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics is given. The possibilty of a deeper understanding of the basic principles of quantum mechanics, employing a concept of quantum wholeness, is outlined. Accentuating the importance of a biblical view, the critical discourse is given about the models of fundamental structures of the world, the problem of the consciousness of the Universe and the God’s place in these concepts. The possibility of closer contacts between science and theology views is emphasized with regards to the change of basic paradigms of science observed nowadays.

Kvantu mehānikas un teoloģijas dialoga problēmas.


Darbs veltīts kvantu mehānikas, kas apraksta mikropasauli, un kristīgās teoloģijas saskarsmes problēmu apskatam. Populārā formā tiek izklāstīti kvantu mehānikas pamata uzskati un to būtiskās atšķirības no mūsu priekšstatiem par makropasauli. Aplūkotie kvantu mehānikas metodoloģiskie principi tiek izmantoti kā analoģija, lai ilustrētu ticības brīnuma jautājumu Sv.Vakarēdiena sakramenta piemērā. Tiek analizēta kvantu mehānikas metodoloģijas un novērotāja apziņas kopsakarību problēma, dots kritisks kvantu mehānikas daudzpasauļu interpretācijas vērtējums. Sniegta padziļināta kvantu mehānikas pamatu iespējamā izpratne izmantojot kvantu holisma koncepciju. Uzsverot bibliskā skatījuma nozīmi tiek kritiski aplūkoti pasaules pamata struktūru uzbūves modeļi, Visuma apziņas problēma un Dieva vieta šajās koncepcijās. Noslēgumā tiek akcentēta zinātnes un teoloģijas uzskatu tuvināšanās iespēja sakarā ar pašlaik vērojamo zinātnes pamata paradigmu maiņu.
